Two weeks, three countries, and a lot of miles between shows. This trip started in the Netherlands where I stayed with a friend for a few days. We caught Delain and Moonlight Haze together, and Battle Beast, before I headed south.
From there I based myself out of Lille, France — central enough to drive to Amsterdam, Kortrijk, and Paris without killing myself between shows.
Netherlands
The Arch Enemy tour with Eluveitie and Amon Amarth hit the AFAS Live in Amsterdam — massive production, great sound. Caught Blackbriar and Forever Still the same run at 013 in Tilburg, completely different vibe but the crowd was just as into it.
Belgium
Kortrijk's DVG Club came up twice — first for the Blackbriar and Forever Still tour, then again for Ad Infinitum with Seven Spires and Tulip. Two separate nights, two great lineups.
France
Paris was the highlight of the trip. The Arch Enemy tour with Eluveitie and Amon Amarth played the Zenith. Ad Infinitum, Seven Spires, and Tulip were at the Backstage. Blackbriar brought it all together at a third Paris show. Between shows I made time for the Moulin Rouge and the Eiffel Tower — because you can't be in Paris and not.
